Showers Arrive Late Sunday Night…Saturday Evening Update 9p.m.

Good Saturday evening! It was another cool day across central Alabama, especially this morning with some areas seeing the upper teens for lows last night! Tonight won’t aim to be that cool, but temperatures will drop below freezing once again. Tomorrow, after the cool start, will warm up quickly thanks to winds changing from a northerly flow to a southerly flow bringing in warmer air from the south. Along with the warmer temperatures, clouds will slowly start to develop throughout the day. By sunset, portions of central Alabama will see mostly cloudy skies. Rain will not arrive until late Sunday night, just before midnight.

The beginning of next work week sees continuing shower development during the day for Monday. Increased southerly flow will continue to bring in warmer temperatures. Tuesday will see decreased rain opportunities: temperatures will remain warmer than usual, and cloud cover will remain persistent. Wednesday will be very similar to Tuesday as cold air advection starts to take place, bringing in slightly cooler weather for Wednesday. The full grunt of cold weather won’t be felt until Thursday.

Just when we thought we will be out of the rain from the beginning of next work week, another round of showers, though they will be isolated, arrives during the day Friday and look to last through the day Saturday and into Sunday.
