Strong to Severe Storms Pushing East… Monday Update 5:45pm

WVUA 2016.png

At 5:45pm, a line of very intense storms from Haleyville to Fayette to Reform is moving east. Winds could easily gust to 50mph along this line, with some power outages possible. The storms are producing very heavy amounts of rain. We do not there is a tornado warning in Noxubee Co, MS, but there is not word of whether that will be extended into Pickens County just yet. There is a severe t-storm watch for all of west AL until 9pm tonight. The line should reach the Tuscaloosa/Birmingham metro sometime between 7pm and 8pm. The main risk will be damaging winds in spots, however, I can’t rule out a quick spin-up tornado along the line, mainly south of Tuscaloosa and west of I-65.

Keep in mind, we go live non-stop on TV on WVUA during tornado warnings. You can go to, scroll to the weather tab and click on Live severe weather stream to watch from your computer or smart phone.
