We’re still tracking a large band of strong storms tracking through Alabama. This line is sparking numerous significant weather advisories ahead of it. Storms range from north Alabama, near Huntsville, all the way south near Dempolis. The storms track further out west into east into Mississippi. The storms will continue to track east over night tonight, into the late evening hours. The main threat with this line is straight-line winds. Many are reporting downed trees and power outages. With such strong winds, we can not rule out the opportunity for a quick spin up tornado. Anything that does spin up will likely be weak and not last very long.
Severe thunderstorm watch still remains in effect for west and north Alabama.
