Good Sunday evening! Image above is a model simulated radar Monday eve…
We’re looking at a good chance of storms in 2 rounds this week. One arrives Monday eve and ends in the pre-dawn hours Tuesday. A second and higher risk of severe storms arrives Tuesday night, ending by midday Wednesday. Keep in mind, that’s a large window because we cover severe weather across the entire Bham TV market. It takes hours for storms to progress east across west, central and east AL.
Round 1: Monday eve/night, the severe risk is low, but a few damaging wind gusts and an isolated tornado is possible, mainly in west AL between 5pm and 2am Monday night. Heavy rain is expected as these storms pass through.
Round 2: Tuesday night/early Wednesday. A higher risk of severe storms, especially along and south of I-20. Damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes are possible. Watching this carefully, as the risk could increase or decrease. The risk would begin sometime mainly after 9pm Tuesday in west AL and end in east AL around noon Wednesday. It will be a slow east movement, so parts of our are could deal with storms for hours. Storms will produce very heavy rain.
