Seasonal Weather… Drought Continues… Friday Forecast Update – 4:15pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday afternoon! A weak subtropical Jetstream has allowed high cirrus clouds to spread over the state today; in-fact, clouds are a little thicker than forecasted by our computer model data. Despite the clouds, it has turned into a nice afternoon, with temperatures reaching the upper 60s to low 70s. There is now low level moisture to get rain to fall across our area, and I expect dry conditions for days and days.

Temperatures will drop into the lower to middle 40s by sunrise Saturday morning. Expect a few high clouds to remain in the local area. As a weak cold front moves across the state Saturday morning, a north to northeast breeze will take over on Saturday. Highs will struggle to reach 70, with increasing sunshine. After a chilly start to Sunday morning, highs will approach 70 under a mostly sunny sky.

All of next week appears to remain dry. A weak disturbance will kick a few extra clouds into the area early next week, but we should experience more sun than clouds. Given how dry the air will remain, I do not expect rain in our local area over the next 7 days. The weather will feel very nice and fall like for most of next week.
