Mild Now… Turning Cooler Soon… Wednesday Forecast Update – 4:15pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Wednesday afternoon! It’s another very warm afternoon across Alabama, but fortunately, a few passing clouds have helped to shave off about 5 degrees this afternoon compared to yesterday. Temperatures this evening will gradually fall around and after sunset. Expect mid 70s at 7pm, upper 60s at 10pm and lower 60s after midnight. Skies will remain partly cloudy tonight.
The strong summer ridge responsible for the summer conditions this week will be breaking down on Thursday and Friday, as a deep trough digs across the eastern US. The trough will send a cold front south into Alabama Thursday night, but limited moisture will make for little to no risk of rain. I’ve got a 5% risk in the forecast Thursday evening, but most of you will not get a drop. A breezy north wind will develop Thursday night and continue through Friday. You will notice a good drop in temperatures for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as highs fall into the middle 70s and lows fall into the middle 40s. Skies will remain sunny this weekend, with no risk of rain.
Don’t forget about the time change Saturday night/Sunday morning. The official change is at 2am Sunday morning, when you would set your clock back one hour. This also means it will get dark at 5pm Sunday and at that time through the rest of the winter…
