November 1, 2016 Leave a comment
Good Tuesday afternoon! It has been another record breaking day across Alabama, with all of west and central Alabama reaching the upper 80s to low 90s. Officially, this is the hottest start to November on record. With dry air still in place across Alabama, drought conditions continue to get worse. Also, with a low dewpoint and dry ground, temperatures will drop rapidly overnight, with a low in the middle 50s.
Wednesday will feature another hot day, with highs in the middle to upper 80s. Skies will remain mostly sunny, with a few high clouds arriving by late afternoon. Clouds will continue to increase on Thursday, and there is a small chance of a stray shower Thursday afternoon north of I-20. Don’t count on rain at your house with the approaching cold front.
Winds will become breezy out of the north on Friday, with a much cooler day. Highs will only reach the low to mid 70s on Friday, despite a sunny sky. Lows Friday night and Saturday night will dip into the low 40s. A few spots across northeast Alabama near Gadsden could reach the upper 30s Saturday night, with mid 40s more likely over west Alabama. Look for a sunny sky and beautiful conditions for the weekend.
Don’t forget about the time change Saturday night/Sunday morning. The official change is at 2am Sunday morning, when you would set your clock back one hour. This also means it will get dark at 5pm Sunday and at that time through the rest of the winter…
