Hot Days Continue… No Rain… Friday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23
October 28, 2016 Leave a comment
Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out hot this afternoon, with most locations reaching the middle to upper 80s. With very dry air and a strong upper air ridge building over the area, skies have remained mostly sunny today. Dry air and a clear sky will allow temperatures to drop into the upper 50s overnight. If you have plans to a local high school football game, expect temperatures in the mid 70s at 7pm, with mid 60s by 10pm.
The intense summer like ridge will remain over the area through the middle of next week, which means more of the same hot and dry weather. Highs will reach the upper 80s each afternoon, with pleasant overnight conditions. High temperatures will approach or surpass record highs for this time of the year over the weekend and into early next week.
The drought situation continues to get worse for our area. Based on the latest forecast model data, I see no sign of rain over the next 7 days. Wildfire danger remains very high, so please avoid burning until we get a good rain. There is a no burn ordinance for most of Alabama…
