Mild Days Ahead… Dangerous Hurricane Nicole Update – Wednesday Forecast 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out very warm, after a chilly start to the day. Afternoon temperatures reached the lower 80s across most of Alabama, under a sunny sky. Temperatures will drop into the middle 50s tonight, a good 5 to 8 degrees warmer than lastnight.

High pressure will keep our weather very calm over the next few days, with mostly sunny skies and dry conditions through the upcoming weekend. A weak upper air disturbance will try to squeeze out a few showers over far north Alabama and Tennessee Friday and Saturday, but the risk of rain south of Hamilton and Cullman is less than 10%. Highs will reach the mid 80s over the weekend, with lows in the lower 60s. Moisture levels will come up a little, which will account for the modifying overnight lows into the weekend.

I am very concerned about Bermuda, as the small island looks to take a direct hit with Hurricane Nicole late tonight into Thursday. Winds are now at 110mph as of the 5pm update and increasing. This will become a major hurricane as it passes over the island. In-fact, based on the current path, the eye of the dangerous hurricane will likely pass directly over the island tomorrow morning. Given how clear the eye is, we may get some interesting video and pictures from inside the eye of the hurricane as it passes. Please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers, as this is a very dangerous storm!
