Mild Days… Cool Nights… NO RAIN… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Tuesday afternoon! We’ve enjoyed plenty of sunshine this afternoon, after a chilly start. Temperatures started off in the upper 40s across much of central and north Alabama. With very dry air in place, temperatures quickly warmed this afternoon, with most areas in the lower 80s. We’ll notice a fast drop off in temperatures this evening, with most spots in the upper 50s at 10pm and lower 50s at 1am.

The pattern won’t change all that much for the rest of the week and into the weekend, with a surface high nearby and an upper air ridge across the south. Storm systems will remain blocked from our local area, keeping us dry. In-fact, rain is not expected for the next 7 days. Drought conditions will continue to increase across the state, especially north and central Alabama, where a severe to extreme drought exists. Highs will reach the lower to middle 80s over the next 7 days, with lows modifying into the lower 60s Thursday night and remaining in the lower 60s each night through early next week.

Nicole is now a hurricane in the central Atlantic and approaching Bermuda. Winds are at 80mph, and this storm could become a major hurricane before impacting Bermuda Thursday. Hurricane warnings have been issued for the island…
