Hot week ahead…Isolated Storms Possible…Saturday Forecast Update @wvua23 #alwx

Hope every body is having a great Saturday! At the time of this update we are monitoring a number of scattered showers and thunderstorms on the radar. Through the rest of this afternoon and in to this evening we will continue to keep scattered showers and storms in the forecast, but expect storm coverage to gradually diminish as we head in to the overnight.

Starting with tomorrow we begin to crank up the heat with afternoon highs working into the low and mid 90s. We will forecast a high of 94 for tomorrow here in Tuscaloosa. We are expecting the coverage of showers and storms to decrease tomorrow in comparison to what we are seeing today with the chance of rain dropping to around 20 percent.

The warming trend continues through Monday with a high of 95 and still the slight risk for isolated showers and storms. The heat continues to be the main story heading towards mid-week with highs in the upper-90s for both Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday looks to have the best chance of rain for the next few days but even then we are only forecasting about a 30 percent coverage of showers and storms.

Unfortunately we are not expecting much relief from the heat late in the week with afternoon highs holding strong in the middle 90s. Rain chances remain fairly low Thursday through Saturday at around 20 percent.

If you happened to snap any pictures today of the storms or if you were just out enjoying the weather please feel free to tweet your pictures to me or tag me on Facebook and I would love to show them on the air tonight at 10!
