Stormy, Hot, and Muggy Weekend Ahead…Friday Evening Update 3:20 p.m.

Good Friday evening! We’ve finally made it to the weekend; however, you might want to try and enjoy the outdoors this evening because this weekend doesn’t look promising for doing much outside. Tonight a few extra clouds will continue to stick around as temperatures drop down into the mid-70’s. Conditions will be very muggy this evening, despite the mild temperature. Tomorrow morning, clouds will quickly start to build as the chance for showers and storms increases, going into the afternoon. The rain won’t do much for cooling things down across central Alabama and temperatures will remain very warm and sticky. Storms will not be an all-day event, instead they will arrive in waves, so expect some times without rainfall and maybe a few slivers on sunshine.

Sunday will close the weekend off with rain continuing and hot, muggy conditions still lasting. As big of a bummer this rain might be, much of Alabama needs it since drought conditions are starting to increase.

Next work week starts with still numerous showers and storms during the day; Tuesday conditions finally allow for rain chances to start to decrease and weather trends revert back to a more summer time like pattern with pop-up showers and storms in the afternoons. Temperatures will remain hot and conditions still remain muggy as we keep the opportunity for scattered evening storms through the remainder of the work week.

The tropics are currently quiet…
