Hot Days Ahead… Friday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday afternoon! It has turned out to be hot again this afternoon, with most areas in the lower to middle 90s. Moisture levels are starting to increase again, which will cause the discomfort level to increase, especially this weekend. An upper air ridge is nosing in from the west and will keep our local weather rather settled through the weekend and very hot.

Expect temperatures to drop into the upper 80s by 7pm, upper 70s by 10pm and lower 70s just before sunrise. Independence day weekend is going to be hot and mostly dry. I can’t rule out a passing shower or storm during the afternoon hours, but most of you will not get rain. Highs will reach the middle 90s this weekend, with a heat index approaching 105. Expect very similar conditions for the 4th on Monday.

There is a slightly better chance of scattered storms on Tuesday, as a weak surface front moves in from the north. It sure looks like some areas will not get a drop of rain early next week.

The tropics remain quiet…
