Scattered Storms Return… Friday Forecast Update – 2pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather is hot and dry this afternoon, under a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky. Expect temperatures to slowly drop this evening, with upper 80s at 7pm, middle 70s at 10pm and lower 70s at midnight. Skies overnight will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear.

Saturday will feature a very typical summer like day, with a high in the lower to middle 90s. There’s a risk of a passing afternoon shower or storm, but the chance is pretty low on Saturday. A weakness in the ridge develops over the area on Sunday and remains with us through much of next week. With hot and humid conditions around and slightly cooler air above the ground, scattered afternoon and evening storms will kick off each day. While you may not get rain every day, there is a decent risk you’ll get a passing downpour at some point. Expect highs in the lower 90s for much of the week, with upper 80s to end the work week. Rain amounts will vary drastically, due to the nature of scattered storms.

The tropics are quiet for the moment…
