Hot Days Continue… No Rain… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4:25pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out hot again this afternoon, under a sunny sky. Most areas have reached the low 90s across central Alabama, but humidity is a bit lower today.

The dry airmass is in response to a cold front that passed through yesterday. With dry air and clear skies, expect temperatures to drop quickly tonight. Temperatures will drop into the middle 80s by 7pm, middle 70s by 10pm and upper 60s at midnight. Lows will fall into the lower 60s by sunrise Wednesday morning. A few spots north of I-20 may reach the upper 50s both Wednesday morning and Thursday morning.

Highs will warm into the upper 80s to near 90 on Wednesday, then lower 90s on Thursday. Upper level ridging will slowly build into the weekend, allowing temperatures to heat up. Highs will reach the middle to possibly upper 90s Friday through Sunday. Moisture levels will also increase this weekend, giving a heat index factor…

In the Tropics… Tropical Storm Colin has lost tropical characteristics and is now a non-tropical low, moving into the open waters of the north Atlantic. The rest of the Atlantic basin is quiet.
