More Wet Weather Tomorrow…Saturday Forecast Update – 4:00 PM #alwx @wvua23

At the time of this update we’re watching a good coverage of showers and thunderstorms across central Alabama. Unfortunately, the rest of the day today as well as tomorrow still look pretty wet. However, with the rain coverage we are at least seeing a little bit of a break from the heat with temperatures this afternoon in the mid-80s.

Tomorrow will be very similar to today with a good coverage of scattered showers and storms with afternoon highs still in the mid-80s. The good news though is that after Sunday we see reduced rain chances for Monday followed by a string of dry weather.

Monday will be noticeably warmer with afternoon highs in the upper-80s and better supply of sunshine. We will maintain the risk of some showers and storms for Monday though with the chance of rain around 20 percent.

Moving towards Tuesday of next week we enter a much drier pattern with sunshine in good supply and afternoon highs near 90. Rain chances through the end of the work week remain low.

We’re also keeping a close eye on the tropics right now with the potential for some development over the course of the next few days. As of right now it appears that a developing system will track across the Yucatan Peninsula and likely develop in to a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico as it makes a turn towards the Florida Gulf Coast. We will continue to monitor the system and I’ll have an update on TV tonight at 10.
