Good Monday afternoon! Conditions are starting to feel rather hot across the state today, as an upper air ridge builds into the southeast. Temperatures will get even hotter this week, as many of us experience low 90s for the first time this year. With an upper air ridge over the area this week, don’t expect any widespread rain for a while.
Tonight, temperatures will fall into the upper 50s. While it will feel nice overnight, temperatures certainly won’t be as cool as lastnight. Expect a clear sky tonight and a sunny sky on Tuesday. A rapid jump in temperatures will take place, from a morning low in the upper 50s to an afternoon high in the upper 80s. Some spots could hit 90 tomorrow.
Low 90s are likely for some areas on Wednesday and Thursday, with a good dose of sunshine. As moisture levels increase on Thursday through the weekend, I can’t rule out a lone afternoon shower or storm, but the risk of that is only 10%. The ridge will weak a little over the weekend, allowing temperatures to drop into the 86 to 88 degree range. I know that’s not a major drop, but it’s atleast a few degrees cooler. Overnight lows will remain in the upper 60s this weekend.
