At 6:25pm, we’ve got a batch of intense storms moving east to east southeast at 40mph. At that time, storms were lined up from Winston County, southwest into Lamar County and northwest Pickens County. Storms are producing heavy rain, gusty wind, intense lightning and possibly small hail. Storms won’t last very long once they reach your area. The severe thunderstorm warning for Lamar Co has expired, but there could be an additional isolated severe thunderstorm warning or two as the storms track across west and central Alabama.

Northwest Alabama will begin to dry out by 8pm or 9pm this evening. Areas along I-59 will be impacted by the storms around 7pm to 9pm, then storms should gradually push southeast of I-59 by 10pm.
