Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out very nice this afternoon, with a good supply of sunshine and temperatures in the 70s. Expect another cool night tonight, with lows in the lower 50s. A few spots could reach the upper 40s overnight, under a clear sky. A surface high over the area will keep things quiet over the next couple of days, which is perfect timing for Mother’s Day weekend.
Expect plenty of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday, with low 80s on Saturday and middle 80s on Sunday. Overnight lows will warm into the upper 50s by Sunday morning, then lower 60s by Monday morning.
Gulf air will move northward on Monday and Tuesday of next week. This will interact with a weakening cold front early next week, bringing some clouds across the area Monday and scattered showers and storms on Tuesday. We’ll be stuck in a pattern with the risk of scattered showers and storms Tuesday through Friday of next week, but I don’t expect an all day type of rain and severe weather is unlikely. Sure, we could get a pulse severe thunderstorm randomly next week, but that will be more of your summer type of storms…
