Nice Days Ahead… Storms Next Week… Thursday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Thursday afternoon! It’s been breezy this afternoon, due to a strong pressure gradient across the state. Winds will gradually calm a bit this evening and tonight, especially after sunset. Look for temperatures to drop into the upper 40s across our local area! A surface high will move over the area Friday through the weekend, with a good dose of sunshine. Highs will warm into the upper 70s on Friday, then lower to middle 80s for Mother’s Day weekend.

Moisture levels will increase slowly each day, with overnight temperatures modifying into the upper 50s Saturday night, then lower 60s at night next week. Upper air ridging will move into the area this weekend into early next week, then quickly move out. As the ridge moves out, rain chances will increase by Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. While this doesn’t appear to be a big soaker everyday next week, periods of scattered storms appear a good possibility. Expect highs in the lower 80s.
