Severe Weather Threat Ending for Central Alabama…Update: 7p.m.

DMA_640.gif

Earlier today conditions were favorable for severe weather across central Alabama, including: hail, straight line winds, and the low probability of a brief isolated tornado. Over the past several hours, the MCS currently passing through Alabama has weakened considerably.

The Huntsville area earlier received a tornado warning, but things here in central Alabama have remained calm. Winds with the passing system will be strong, but no severe thresholds should be met for the remainder of the evening and night.

We will continue to track the system as it passes through central Alabama to be safe.

Have a good Saturday evening and catch us on WVUA 23 News at 10.
