Very Warm Days Continue… Some Storms from Time to Time… Wednesday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Wednesday afternoon! Today marks the 5 year anniversary on the horrific tornado outbreak that took so many lives on April 27, 2011. Check this link to the blog from this morning on that historic day… Looking Back, 5 Years Ago

Our local weather is warm and humid this afternoon. We’ve got a few scattered storms tracking northeast across the state, but these are not severe. The risk of severe weather today is really low, but don’t be shocked if you get a passing downpour with some thunder at your house this afternoon or tonight. A few showers will remain possible late tonight and into Thursday morning, as a weak cold front slides southward through the state. Expect lows to drop into the middle 60s tonight.

Most of Thursday and Friday will be dry, however, I can’t rule out a few pop up showers or maybe a heat activated storm. The risk of rain is low both days. Highs will warm into the middle 80s. Saturday will feature a mostly dry day, but there’s a slightly better chance of a few late day showers or storms. I still expect most areas to remain dry on Saturday.

A cold front will move into central Alabama and stall out on Sunday. Expect a good chance of occasional showers and storms on Sunday, but rain is not expected all day.
