Very Warm Days… Some Storms… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23

UntitledGood Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out very warm this afternoon, with most areas reaching the lower to middle 80s. With a gradual moisture return to Alabama, humidity is starting to increase, giving a slight uncomfortable feel to the air. There is a small chance of a passing shower or storm this evening, but most area will not get rain. The rain chance is only at 10% through 10pm. Look for temperatures to gradually drop into the 60s overnight.

Most of Wednesday will be dry, but we’ll be watching a progressing storm system very carefully. This same system is producing a severe weather outbreak this afternoon and evening across the central Plains, but the system will be weakening a lot before reaching Alabama. There could be a few strong and possibly a stray severe storm or two Wednesday evening, Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. This looks like a very low end event risk, but needs to be watched. I do not expect it to rain non-stop Wednesday evening through Thursday morning, but a few areas will get a heavy downpour.

Skies will become partly cloudy to mostly sunny on Friday and Saturday. There is a low end risk of a stray shower or two both afternoons, but most areas will remain dry. Our next system to bring a good chance of rain and storms to the area will approach on Sunday. Severe weather appears unlikely, but we’ll continue to watch it carefully.
