Very Warm Days Ahead… Some Storms… Monday Forecast Update – 5pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Monday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out very warm this afternoon, as temperatures reached the lower to middle 80s across the state. Humidity is not very high this afternoon, but moisture will be increasing over the next few days. A storm system to the west of Alabama will pull lots of moisture into the state by mid to late week. That system will impact our local weather by late Wednesday or Wednesday night and into Thursday. This same storm system will produce a major tornado outbreak on Tuesday across the central Plains. Violent, long track tornadoes are expected in that part of the US Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night. This system will be much weaker once it reaches Alabama, so the severe weather risk will really die off by that point…

If you have plans outdoors tonight, expect temperatures to gradually fall into the lower 60s. Skies will remain partly cloudy overnight, with some fog in spots. Temperatures will approach the middle 80s on Tuesday, with increasing humidity. There is a small chance of an isolated afternoon shower on Tuesday, but most spots will remain dry. Most of Wednesday will be dry, but scattered showers and storms will move into northwest Alabama sometime Wednesday evening or Wednesday night. Storms will slowly shift southeast through Thursday morning, impacting our entire area with some passing rain and storms. The risk of severe weather appears low at this time.

Expect a small chance of an isolated shower or storm on Friday and Saturday, with highs in the middle 80s. Another risk of storms will impact Alabama on Sunday.
