Very Mild Days… Some Rain Ahead… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather is very warm again this afternoon, with upper 70s to lower 80s across the state. Clouds have really increased across the state this afternoon, in response to a weak storm system to our west. The upper air ridge currently in place is preventing on this feature from quickly moving in with rain and storms. I don’t expect any organized rain chances through the day on Wednesday before the ridge breaks down enough to allow our next rainmaker to progress east.

If you have plans outdoors this evening and tonight, expect temperatures to drop into the upper 50s overnight, under a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Highs will approach 80 on Wednesday, under a partly to mostly cloudy sky. There could be a shower or two over far northwest Alabama on Wednesday, in areas west of Fayette and Haleyville. The rest of central Alabama should remain dry.

A weak surface low and upper level disturbance will track across the state on Thursday and Friday. This will be a very slow moving system, and will bring a good chance of occasional rain and thunder. Severe weather is not expected at this time. Rain amounts should remain generally near or under 1 inch with this event. I do not expect rain all day both of these days listed, however, rain will be possible at any time. Highs will top out in the middle to upper 70s on Thursday and Friday.

Another ridge will build into the area over the weekend, allowing lots of sunshine and very warm temperatures. Highs will reach the lower 80s this weekend…
