Few Showers Possible… Nice Weekend! Tuesday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Tuesday afternoon! It has turned out to be a gloomy day across much of the state, with a few areas of drizzle or light showers from time to time. Some areas have broken out into sunshine this afternoon, as drier air tries to filter into the state. This will be short lived, as more clouds build in late tonight and on Wednesday. Expect temperatures to drop into the lower 50s, with a partly cloudy sky overnight.

A weak upper level disturbance will swing into the area on Wednesday and stall across the southeast through Friday. This will bring enough uplift to the area to spark off occasional showers on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but rain amounts will remain rather light and I don’t expect rain all day these days. Keep the umbrella handy incase a shower moves over your area. Highs will top out in the upper 60s to low 70s through Friday.

A surface high moves into the area on Saturday and Sunday, allowing sunshine to return. Highs will reach the middle 70s on Saturday and upper 70s on Sunday. If you’re going to Alabama’s A-day game in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, expect mild conditions, with an east breeze. Rain is not expected this weekend. Lows at night will remain in the 50s.
