Rainy Easter Sunday… Sunshine to Start Work Week… Saturday Forecast Update — 7 pm

We’ll remain dry tonight as clouds thicken keeping us warm overnight before rain showers arrive Easter morning. Easter Sunday will have some rain showers throughout the day. I don’t think we will see rain the entire days, but there will be rain periodically around the area on Sunday. The clouds and rain will keep us a bit cooler with highs in the low 70’s despite a southerly breeze. A cold front will move through the state Sunday night, clearing the rain out early Monday morning. Morning lows will drop into the low 50’s Sunday night, and Monday’s high will be in the upper 60’s and low 70’s as the clouds clear.

Cooler air will be in place Monday night as we drop into the mid 40’s. Plenty of sunshine will return on Tuesday, allowing us to warm back into the mid 70’s. The sunshine and mild air will be brief as clouds and even a few storms move back into Central Alabama Wednesday evening. These storms are just the front end of a prolonged rain chance that lasts from Wednesday evening through early Saturday morning. Wednesday and Thursday will remain warm with the potential for stronger storms as the cold front approaches. Friday morning and into Saturday, the rain will be associated with the cold front itself as it drags across the Deep South, lingering along the Gulf Coast.

The latter half of Saturday and the rest of the weekend looks very nice with temperatures in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s. We’ll keep you updated should the forecast change!
