Nice Start to Easter Weekend… Wet at Times on Sunday… Friday Forecast Update – 5:20pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out very nice today, with a good dose of sunshine. Temperatures are in the upper 60s, approaching 70 this afternoon, but expect a chilly night tonight. Lows will dip into the lower 40s overnight. Clouds will gradually increase a bit on Saturday, with highs in the upper 70s. A few spots could touch 80 on Saturday.

Easter Sunday will feature rain at times, as an upper level disturbance pulls moisture northward out of the Gulf. There is a good chance you’ll get some rain on Sunday, but I don’t expect it to rain the entire day. If you have to be outdoors on Sunday, take the umbrella to be safe. There will be good breaks in the rain where conditions are dry. Temperatures will remain mild on Sunday. Showers move out very early on Monday, mainly before sunrise. Expect slightly cooler air to set in on Monday, with highs in the upper 60s, with a return of sunshine.

Tuesday and the first half of Wednesday will feature nice and mild conditions. Clouds increase on Wednesday, with some storms late Wednesday or Wednesday night. A good chance of rain and storms will impact Alabama on Thursday, and we’ll need to watch this system for any severe weather potential. At this time, the risk of severe weather looks rather low but can’t be ruled out. The best dynamics from this system will pass north of Alabama.
