Dry Days Through Saturday… Wet Easter… Thursday Weather Update – 5pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Thursday afternoon! For the most part central and west Alabama have dodged a major bullet today, with the lack of severe weather issues. A large cluster of storms formed on the coast and has robbed the inflow of unstable air into our part of the state. Severe weather issues have been confined to far south Alabama, where the cluster of storms tracked. At 5pm, a thin line of showers have formed along a cold front across west Alabama, but there’s not enough instability to allow these storms to become severe. We will watch radar trends carefully over the next couple of hours incase anything becomes stronger along the thin line.
The weather will turn cooler tonight, with temperatures in the 40s overnight. Highs will warm into the upper 60s on Friday and middle 70s on Saturday.
Easter Sunday is looking wet at times, so any outdoor activities may involved some rain and thunder. I don’t expect rain the entire day, but parts of the day look wet. Saturday will be a great day to get things done outdoors. Storms move out early Monday, with nice weather Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon.
