7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Tuesday afternoon! It was cold this morning, with a widespread frost for many areas. Temperatures recovered nicely this afternoon, with most spots warming into the upper 60s to low 70s. Skies remain clear this evening, but clouds will gradually increase after midnight tonight. As a storm system continues to approach Alabama from the west, expect mostly cloudy skies on Wednesday and a mild south wind. Conditions will be rather breezy at times on Wednesday and Thursday.

By Thursday, a cold front will approach Alabama during the mid afternoon hours. Showers and storms will develop ahead of the front, bringing the risk of some severe weather as well. All modes of severe weather are possible with this system, as models continue to increase some of the severe weather parameters. The best chance of severe weather will begin during the late morning and continue into the late afternoon from west to east. We need to watch this setup carefully. Rain amounts will approach 1 inch, so flooding is not expected at this time. Below is our threat categories. Hail and damaging winds will be the main risks, but a few tornadoes are also possible.

The air will turn a bit cooler by Friday, with highs in the middle 60s. Skies will become sunny on Friday, with increasing clouds again on Saturday. The weather as we go into Easter Weekend will be mild, but showers and storms will become likely on Sunday, as a system moves in from the west. At this time, severe weather appears unlikely, but we’ll keep an eye on any changes.
