Blustery and cool day today despite seeing the sun throughout the day. The afternoon clouds will clear out tonight and temperatures will drop into the low and mid 30’s. The wind will lessen as well, so there is a frost advisory in place for most of central Alabama until 9am tomorrow morning. The only areas that are not under the advisory are under a freeze warning until 9am, which includes our northern tier of counties.

A chilly and frosty start to the work week, but we will warm up into the upper 50’s and low 60’s Monday afternoon under a mostly sunny sky. Clear conditions Monday will allow temperatures to drop back into the mid 30’s with some light frost possible. Tuesday will be sunny and warmer, high temperatures will be back to seasonal levels near 70°. The dry and sunny conditions stick around through Wednesday as the mercury climbs into the low 70’s.

Showers and storms move back into central Alabama on Thursday. Expect some light showers in the morning, but storms arrive Thursday afternoon and evening. At this point, we aren’t looking at a major severe weather event, but this could quickly change, and we will keep you updated about Thursday. The storms move east by Friday, bringing some cooler air behind it. Expect high temperatures to be in the mid 60’s Friday with a mix of sun and clouds. More sunshine is expected for Saturday with temperatures back into the 70’s. Easter Sunday may feature a few showers, especially south and east of Birmingham; otherwise, a pleasant Easter weekend is expected with temperatures remaining mild in the low 70’s.
