Monday Morning Showers.. Cranking Up the Heat Tuesday… Sunday Forecast Update — 7:15pm

The clouds broke around lunchtime, allowing us to have a wonderful afternoon of sunshine after all the rain to start the weekend. Tonight, clouds will build back in with a few showers developing in the early morning hours. These will not bring heavy rain, but a few showers are possible between 3am and 1pm on Monday. Once these showers pass, the sky will clear and the sun will return mid-late Monday afternoon. It will be a warm and breezy day with southwest winds between 10 and 15 mph. The breeze will help us to warm into the upper 70’s and lower 80’s Monday.

A clear and calm night Monday will allow temperatures to fall into the mid 50’s, but plenty of sunshine and a southwesterly breeze again on Tuesday will push many of us into the mid 80’s Tuesday afternoon. Montgomery and points south could approach 90° Tuesday. A few clouds arrive Tuesday night with a slight chance of shower early Wednesday morning as weak cold front slides across the state on Wednesday. This front will stall across south Alabama, leading to some storms continuing sporadically across central Alabama Wednesday night through Thursday.

Another system helps move the stalled front out, but will bring with it better rain and thunderstorm chances for Friday. These two systems will finally clear out next weekend, but will bring more seasonable temperatures back to Alabama. Expect the low 70’s on Thursday for your St. Patrick’s Day, cooling into the low and mid 60’s by the weekend just in time for the first day of spring on Sunday.
