Rain Showers Linger into Sunday… Saturday Forecast Update — 7:10pm

Steady rain has fallen across West Alabama throughout the day today, limiting our temperatures to a high of just 71°. Rain showers will continue sporadically through the night, although there will likely be some breaks, I think we will continue to see a few showers into the day on Sunday. Temperatures overnight will be similar to last night, dropping to about 60°. Do not forget to set your clock forward an hour tonight as we spring forward into Daylight Saving Time.

Sunday will be less rainy, although I think the clouds will stick around for much of the day. Temperatures will be warm again Sunday afternoon with the mercury returning to the mid 70’s. Best chance for rain will be in the morning. Partly clear conditions are expected Sunday night, but a few showers move back in early Monday morning as another low pressure slides across West Tennessee. A few showers are possible through lunchtime Monday, but clearing conditions after that. The wind will pick up as we begin the work week with a strong southwesterly breeze pumping more warm air into the area. Temperatures will be in the upper 70’s and low 80’s Monday afternoon.

Tuesday will certainly be the warmest day of the year thus far, as sunshine and a southwesterly breeze team up to bring the low 80’s to many in Central Alabama. Areas along US 80 could see the upper 80’s thanks to all of the sunshine. A few records could be broken Tuesday afternoon with all the warmth. The heat is short-lived though as cloud cover moves back in for Wednesday, with showers and storms arriving Wednesday evening and into Thursday.

There is a lot of uncertainty about what Thursday through the weekend will look like, but there is a chance for showers and storms Thursday through Saturday with a steady cool-down to accompany the precipitation.
