Sunny and Balmy Start to Work Week… Sunday Forecast Update — 6pm #alwx

We’ve had a pleasant streak of sunshine and mild temperatures and we will continue the trend into the first half of the work week! A few clouds filter in overnight tonight, keeping our temperatures in the 40’s tonight. Monday will be another very pleasant day with high temperatures in the lower and middle 70’s. Expect a few clouds in the morning, and a few overnight Monday night, but plenty of sunshine through the afternoon and evening. It will be rather breezy on Monday the high pressure keeping us sunny will be shifting off the Atlantic Coast, heading for Bermuda. Winds will be out of the southeast at 10-15 mph tomorrow afternoon.

The high pressure will continue to pump warm air into Central Alabama and keep us sunny for Tuesday. Temperatures will be in the middle and even upper 70’s Tuesday afternoon with plenty of sunshine. The warm and dry conditions will continue for Wednesday; however, a few clouds begin to filter into our sky ahead of showers and thunderstorms associated with a low pressure system that will track through Kansas on Wednesday. The center of the low pressure will move northeast and track across the Great Lakes Thursday and Friday, but the trailing line of showers and thunderstorms will try and push into Alabama Thursday. This system will not clear the Deep South quickly, some of the moisture will be left behind as the Great Lakes low moves offshore. A secondary area of low pressure will develop in Texas on Friday and finally push all of the rain through Saturday and into Sunday. We should begin to clear up again next Sunday afternoon.

Don’t forget! We spring forward at 2am on Sunday morning! Spring is just around the corner.
