Sunny and Pleasant End to Weekend… Saturday Forecast Update — 7:10pm

A great first day for the weekend will be followed up by another great one to help close out the weekend. Today across Alabama skies remained mostly clear, allowing temperatures to warm to the upper 60’s. Tonight, skies remain clear and temperatures will drop across central Alabama into the upper 30’s or lower 40’s, depending on location. Tomorrow the skies will continue to remain mostly clear, allowing for further warming to take place. Many areas across central Alabama will approach the upper 60’s and some areas may even get to the 70 ° mark. Warming conditions and clear skies will make for an awesome ending to the weekend to go out and enjoy the outdoors.

Monday starts the work week off dreary as clouds build throughout the day, and temperatures will be even warmer, playing right at the 70° mark. Late Monday the chance for a passing shower brought by a low level wave still stands; despite all the clouds, air conditions will be very dry making any precipitation making to the ground difficult. Tuesday temperatures break the 70° mark across central Alabama, ahead of the next system that will bring rain, and our next chance for severe weather. The current timing for arrival will be later Tuesday, going into Tuesday night. The trend right now shows that the main threat will mainly come from strong winds; however, quick spin up tornadoes are possible with systems that have high measured winds.

After the main line of showers move out late Tuesday, a few lingering showers are possible Wednesday morning, before skies begin to clear that afternoon. Wednesday night clearing skies will be brought to an end as a quick secondary system develops, bringing the chance for rain Thursday. By Friday, skies will be clearing out and temperatures will be back on the rise again.

Next weekend looks to be similar to this weekend with clear skies and temperatures being in the 60’s, so if you miss the nice weather  this weekend, make plans to take advantage of next weekend.
