Cool Temps… Very Cold Next Week… Thursday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Thursday afternoon! It has turned out to be a chilly day, despite lots of sunshine. Temperatures have reached 50 in most spots, but a northwest wind is making conditions feel cooler. Expect a low below freezing tonight, with upper 20s likely. Friday will feature cool temperatures, with highs in the lower 50s, but sunny skies will make conditions feel a little better.

Saturday and Sunday is looking nice, with highs in the middle to upper 50s. A few clouds will pass by on Saturday, but I don’t expect rain in our local area. Skies will become sunny again on Sunday.

A strong cold front will track across the state on Monday. Expect much colder air to move in on Monday and especially on Tuesday. Highs will only top out in the 40s on Monday and 30s on Tuesday. A few tiny flurries or sprinkles are possible Monday and Tuesday, but accumulations are not expected. Some snow accumulations are expected in the mountains across east Tennessee. Our big story will be the colder air!
