Radar Update 6pm Thursday… #alwx @wvua23

Warnings_1056.JPG

Good Thursday evening! At 6pm, a line of strong to severe storms is tracking across east Mississippi. The best chance of dealing with isolated severe weather will occur in areas near and south of Livingston to Greensboro to Marion and points south this evening. I don’t expect severe weather issues for the Tuscaloosa/Birmingham/Anniston areas tonight, but we will all deal with heavy rain this evening and overnight tonight. Expect rain amounts of 2″-3″, and this could lead to some flash flooding.

In the severe zone over southwest Alabama, there is a chance of damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. The severe portion of the line will be near the state line between 8pm and 10pm, then in the Linden, Demopolis, Greensboro areas around 9pm to 11pm, then the Montgomery area around the midnight area. Keep in mind, after the leading edge of the storms passes east of you, expect rain to continue for several hours into the late overnight.
