Cooler Days Ahead… Some Rain… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Tuesday afternoon! Most areas have seen a mix of sun and clouds today, with temperatures cooler than recent days. Highs have reached into the upper 50s to lower 60s, which is still above average. We’re watching a weak disturbance move our way from the southwest. Expect showers to increase tonight and on Wednesday. Temperatures will drop into the lower 50s tonight and remain in the 50s all day Wednesday. Rain amounts will remain less than 1″ in our area, although, portions of south Alabama could get more.

Alabama takes on Michigan State in Arlington, TX on Thursday. Kickoff is at 7pm. Expect cloudy skies and cold conditions. A few sprinkles are possible at kickoff, with a few snow flurries mixing in the sprinkles by the end of the game. At this time, travel issues are not expected. Fortunately, the game will be played indoors, so weather won’t be a factor.

We’ll remain under a southwest flow aloft, with moisture moving over our area on Thursday and Friday. While I don’t think it will rain a lot both day, I would keep the umbrella handy incase some light rain or sprinkles remain in the area. Temperatures will drop into the upper 40s for highs on Friday and Saturday, as we begin 2016. Conditions will feel much colder, compared to recent days!

Saturday and Sunday appear dry and chilly, with upper 40s on Saturday and lower 50s on Sunday. Overnight lows will drop below freezing this weekend.
