Nice Weekend Ahead… No Rain… Friday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather is looking nice this afternoon, with temperatures warming into the upper 50s to near 60s. We are fairly close to the averages for early December, but temperatures will be warming some over the next few days. Expect chilly temperatures tonight again, with lows in the lower 40s. There could be some areas of frost overnight tonight, especially near and north of I-20.

The weekend looks great! A strong surface high to the northeast of Alabama will continue to pump dry and pleasant conditions into the area. Highs will reach the lower 60s on Saturday and Sunday.

Christmas on the River in Demopolis is looking great Friday through the weekend, with no weather issues. Temperatures will reach the lower 60s during the daytime hours there, with lows in the 30s.

Alabama takes on Florida in Atlanta on Saturday inside the Georgia Dome. Conditions outside the dome will feature lots of sunshine, with highs in the upper 50s. Overnight temperatures will fall into the 30s at night in that area.

The weak system we were watching for next week looks to weaken a bit before reaching our area. With limited moisture on Monday, rain appears unlikely. Expect highs in the lower 60s on Monday, with upper 30s to near 40 at night Monday night and Tuesday night.

We’ll warm into the upper 60s for highs by next Thursday and Friday, with lows in the 40s. Mainly sunny next week, with no organized rain chances.
