Hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving! Black Friday has been a very warm and pleasant day with a southerly breeze to accompany the unseasonably warm weather we’ve got this weekend in Alabama.

Tonight, a mix of stars and clouds as temperatures remain very mild, only cooling into the mid 50’s. Saturday will be another warm day, with temperatures back into the mid 70’s by afternoon although winds will be lighter, creating ideal football conditions for the Iron Bowl down on the Plains. Kickoff will be at 2:30, temperatures will be in the mid 70’s then, only cooling into the mid 60’s by the end of the game. A partly cloudy sky above will remain dry throughout the day across Central Alabama with any rain showers being to the north and west of the area.

Clouds thicken overnight Saturday night, and we will only cool into the mid and upper 50’s ahead of a rather lackadaisical cold front. The front will slowly drift southward Sunday night into Monday, bringing a chance for a few showers for areas north of I-20 Sunday evening. Ahead of the front, temperatures will remain warm, and we will stay on the warm side through Monday afternoon. Expect temperatures to be near 70° to start the week, but as the rain inches closer, temperatures will slowly cool into the 60’s.

The middle part of the week will feature off/on showers as the cold front weakly slides across the state. Rain showers continue through Wednesday before tapering off early Thursday. Once the sunshine returns beginning Thursday afternoon, cooler air settles into place, bringing seasonable weather back to the South. High temperatures will be in the upper 50’s and lower 60’s with plenty of sunshine.

Tropics are calm as we close out the season next week.
