Warm Days Ahead… Wednesday Forecast Update – 3:45pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Wednesday afternoon! It has turned out to be a mild afternoon across Alabama, with a good supply of sunshine. Temperatures have warmed into the upper 70s across most of central Alabama, with a few low 70s mixed in across west and south Alabama. Temperatures will only drop into the upper 40s tonight, so conditions will feel a bit warmer than recent nights.

Slight upper level ridging will take over for the rest of the week and to start the weekend, which will allow temperatures to remain mild during the day and not as cool at night. As moisture levels increase, overnight temperatures will also increase. Expect a mix of partly cloudy to partly sunny sky on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, with a high near 70. I don’t expect any rain chances on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Saturday and Sunday will continue to feature mild temperatures, with highs in the low 70s. A few showers will become possible on Sunday, but mainly across north Alabama.

Expect a partly sunny sky on Thanksgiving day, with highs approaching 70 degrees. There’s no risk of rain on Thursday. It may get rather breezy at times on Thursday, due to a strong surface high to our northeast. East Alabama will remain in the 60s for highs, with mostly cloudy skies, due to a cool air wedge.

Alabama takes on Auburn in the Iron Bowl on Saturday in Auburn. Kickoff is at 2:30pm. Conditions should remain dry for the game, with temperatures near 70 at kickoff. Skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy during the game. Temperatures will drop into the lower 60s at the end of the game.
