Hot & Humid Work Week… Sunday Forecast Update — 8:45pm

A good Sunday evening! The rain that came through Tuscaloosa County this afternoon was a welcome sight to bring beneficial rain water and cool us off a bit here in Tuscaloosa.

There could be some patchy fog overnight in areas that saw some larger amounts of rainfall, but for most, a partly clear evening with temperatures around the 70 degree mark.

As we head into the work week, little has changed in our weather conditions from this weekend, hot and humid weather continues into the work week. Monday’s high will be in the low to mid 90s with partly cloudy skies and a couple isolated storms. Through the main portion of the work week, expect similar conditions.

Thursday and into Friday we will see the humidity and moisture levels rise across Alabama ahead of a stout cold front that will bring significantly drier and cooler air into the state Friday afternoon into Saturday. This cold front will likely spark a couple extra storms Thursday and Friday afternoon before pushing through. Behind the front, expect dewpoints to drop into the 50s, and highs this weekend will be in the mid-upper 80s under sunny skies! Definitely a weekend forecast to look forward to and get us through the week ahead!

As for the Tropics, we are continuing to watch this cloud formation just off the coast of West Africa, the National Hurricane Center suggests that this could develop into a named storm by the end of the work week if not before. This is the same cluster of clouds I mentioned last night as having a better chance at surviving its trek across the central Atlantic due to being further south than other storms this hurricane season. We will continue to monitor this storm; however, the storm is still a very long way off, and plenty can change in that time.
