Severe Weather Risk Ending as of 12:30am Sunday… Dry By Mid-Morning

Good news! As of 12:30am Sunday, the risk of severe weather is ending fast across our area. A batch of severe storms that moved across Alabama this evening is nearly into Georgia at this hour. The storms will continue to track east, with any risk of organized severe weather coming to an end. While there’s lots of rain to the west over Mississippi, the storms are well below severe limits. You may notice some thunder and periods of heavy rain through 5am, but I don’t expect anymore problems with large hail and damaging wind. The warm front we’ve been watching just isn’t moving north, so the risk of an isolated tornado will remain along the coast tonight.

Our weather will dry out on Sunday, as a breezy west wind takes over. Temperatures will fall after lunch, as cold air takes over. We’ll stay in the 50s for highs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, with a freeze likely Monday night through Wednesday night.
