Mild Weather Ahead…Some Rain Possible… Tuesday Forecast Update 5:20pm

Good Tuesday afternoon! After a nice start to the day, temperatures became rather mild this afternoon. Most spots have topped out in the lower 80s, but high level cirrus clouds have blocked out enough sunlight this afternoon to keep temperatures from reaching the middle 80s. One thing you may notice is a slight increase in moisture levels. As dewpoints gradually climb, humidity will become a factor as we approach the weekend. While humidity isn’t forecasted to become extreme, an increase is expected.

The surface high that kept things very quiet and dry over the weekend is moving east. As a south flow develops tomorrow, dewpoints will increase. As moisture levels come up, expect overnight lows to warm as well; in-fact, most spots will stay in the low 60s tonight; only a few upper 50s are possible tonight. Highs will warm into the middle to upper 60s on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Rain chances will gradually increase on Friday and Saturday. At this point, we’re only looking at a few scattered showers. Clouds will increase a bit as well late in the week and over the weekend.

Some forecast data is showing a good soaking late in the weekend and early next week, but other data remains fairly dry. We will continue to fine-tune your forecast as we get closer to the weekend. There could be some quick changes in the forecast so keep it here for updates.

Alabama takes on Ole Miss on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is at 8:15pm, and we can expect a partly cloudy to mostly cloudy sky during the game. There’s a risk of a few showers during game-time, but again, the forecast may change a bit.
