Thursday Evening Forecast Thoughts…Football Friday… Gameday Saturday Forecast – Thursday Update 9pm

Good Thursday evening to you! It’s amazing how many tornado warning were issued in east Mississippi and southwestern Alabama, but the band producing tornado warnings just couldn’t hold together as it tracked eastward. The tornado watch has been canceled for our area tonight. There are only a few light tropical showers out there at this point across parts of central Alabama. This activity is moving north. The center of Tropical Depression Isaac is over southern Arkansas and continues to move away from Alabama. The tornadic band this evening is over central and east Mississippi, but it is not moving into Alabama.

A few showers and storms will develop during the day on Friday, as afternoon heating gets kicked in. The center of Isaac should be far enough away to keep issues well away from Alabama. Keep the rain gear handy because scattered storms will come and go through the day on Friday. The best chance of rain will happen between lunch and 6pm. Most of the local high school football games should be dry, as storms die out around sunset.

If you’re driving or flying to Dallas for the Alabama football game, you may have some issues over Mississippi, but the storm is pulling to the northwest and conditions will improve tonight and on Friday to the west of Alabama. Skies will be sunny in Dallas on gameday, Saturday. Outside the dome conditions will reach the 90s in Dallas during the day, cooling into the 80s during game time. Don’t expect any rain there… Inside the dome, temperatures will remain in the nice lower 70s. Gotta love the indoor games.
