Sunday Evening Forecast Discussion – 9 p.m.

Our Fourth of July will be a mostly Sunny one. There is a chance for some late afternoon shower but the best chance for rain will be after 10 pm and into Tuesday morning. Our highs will reach the mid to upper 90s across West Alabama.

For the remainder of the week a typical summertime patter will be on tap. Now that a weak fromtal boundary has moved north of our area expect scattered afternoon and evening storm chances through the next seven days. With the increased moisture in the atmosphere temperatures will have a tough time reaching the triple digits, but heat index values could still be near 100 degrees.

We could see a front try to come through towards the end of the week, but just like many systems this time of year, it could die out before it reaches West Alabama. With the combination of moisture and lack of upper level ridges we will likely have plenty of scattered thunderstorm activity each afternoon. Most of the storms will be triggered by the heat of the day.

Have a Happy Fourth!!!
