Severe Weather Update/Forecast Discussion – 9pm Monday Update

The line of strong to severe storms have moved out of our coverage area. There are still some showers across west Alabama, with a little lightning, but everything severe is well east of us. Eventhough we had several tornado warnings, we haven’t had any word of tornado related damage. The line that moved through our area produced lots of wind damage in spots, with tree and powerline damage being the primary deal. The good news is that we’re going to catch a break from any nasty weather over the next several days.

Temperatures will cool off a bit tomorrow, with highs in the middle 70s. Skies will become sunny on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will fall into the mid 40s both Tuesday and Wednesday night. Highs will return into the lower 80s on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.

Our next storm system will arrive on Friday, with a chance of showers and storms. So far, Friday doesn’t appear to be a day with active severe weather, but we’ll keep an eye on that system. Some drier air should return over the weekend, with highs back in the 70s.

Be sure to join me tonight at 10 for the latest on your forecast.
