WVUA Weather Update – Tuesday, August 10 – 4:30pm

Another day with scorching afternoon temps in West Alabama with highs near the century mark and little or no relief from the rain. Tonight we will see fair skies, only isolated showers and muggy overnight conditions. Wednesday look for more of the same with afternoon highs near 100 and small rain chances.

In our extended outlook, a low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico may be the next weather player in West Alabama. Computer models have the low moving across the Gulf over the next few days, then onshore near the Louisiana cost by early this weekend as a Tropical Storm. Of course, it’s early, but we will be watching. And it appears this will give us a better chance of rain with this system Thursday – Saturday. Also, models have a frontal system approaching on Sunday, giving us additional chances of rain.
