Sunday Update

It’s been an active weather day in West Alabama this Sunday… plenty of showers and thunderstorms, some of them heavy rainmakers. There have been several warnings, and a couple watches, through the day, too.

Overnight, the scattered thunderstorms will continue across the area. The storm system that’s bringing us this rain will be slow to ext.

Monday, more rain and storms, especially through lunchtime. It will be warm, too.

Tuesday, there’s a small chance for more rain and storms, as small system works through the area. This system will push all of this rainy weather out of the area.

Wednesday and Thursday will be sunny, and hot, with high temperatures in the upper-80s.

Our next storm system moves in Friday, and brings chances for rain and thunderstorms Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Afternoon temperatures will stay warm, in the middle to upper-80s through Friday. Right now, the highs look to be cool, in the upper-70s, Saturday and Sunday.

AT 751 PM CDT…HEAVY RAIN CONTINUED TO SPREAD NORTHEAST ACROSS AREAS THAT HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN. AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT HOUR AND THIS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING. SOME AREAS IN VERNON THAT ARE LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE HIGHWAY 18 IN THE VICINITY OF 4TH STREET AND HIGHWAY 17 NEAR TOWN CREEK.
