What a pretty afternoon in West Alabama! Lots of sunshine and temperatures in the upper-70s! The nice weather will continue into Friday. Tomorrow it will be slightly warmer in the afternoon with highs in the lower-80s. Friday, expect a few more clouds with temperatures in the middle-80s.

A vigorous storm system will approach the area early Saturday morning. Before sunrise Saturday, we have chances for some rain and thunderstorms. A warm front will lift through the area, which will usher in moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.  Skies will be mostly cloudy Saturday. Temperatures will top out ion the middle-70s.

Saturday afternoon, as the cold front get closer, we could see some periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Some of the storms Saturday afternoon and evening could be severe. The main threat appears to be some hail and strong winds. Isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out.

Rainfall will be with us into Sunday morning. It should move out of West Alabama by lunchtime Sunday. We’ll see some clearing Sunday afternoon.

Looking ahead to next week, dry conditions with seasonable temperatures through mid-week.
